Cappadocia is a high volcanic plateau in central Türkiye where wind and water have carved soft tuff rock into fairy chimneys, canyons and valleys. People lived inside this rock for centuries: you can walk through cave churches painted by Byzantine monks, go down eight floors into an underground city and sleep in a cave hotel in Göreme, Uçhisar or Ürgüp.
The area around Göreme is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and it is one of the few places in the world where more than a hundred hot air balloons rise together at sunrise.
Two full days let you see the essentials; three days is ideal. Day one: a sunrise balloon flight, then the Red Tour of north Cappadocia (Göreme Open Air Museum, Paşabağ, Avanos). Day two: the Green Tour to the underground city, Ihlara Valley and Selime Monastery. Day three: the quieter Blue Tour, a sunset ATV or horse ride, or a hike through Rose and Red valleys.
Book the balloon for your first morning. If the flight is cancelled for weather, you still have time to fly on another day.
Spring (April–June) and autumn (September–October) bring mild days, clear mornings and the most flying days for balloons. Summer is hot in the afternoon but perfect at sunrise and sunset. Winter turns the valleys white and is quieter and cheaper, but balloon flights are cancelled more often, so plan two or three mornings.
The closest airports are Nevşehir Kapadokya (NAV), about 40 minutes from Göreme, and Kayseri (ASR), about 70 minutes away with more flights. Most hotels are in Göreme, Uçhisar, Ürgüp, Avanos and Ortahisar — all our tours include free pickup from these towns, so you do not need a car.
Flights need permission from the civil aviation authority each morning. If flying is not allowed, you do not pay — we offer the next available morning or a full refund. That is why we recommend booking your balloon for your first morning in Cappadocia.
April to October has the most flying days, with May, June, September and October the favourites. Winter flights are beautiful over snow but are cancelled more often, so plan two or three mornings.
No. You send a free booking request, we confirm it, and you pay on the day in cash (EUR, USD or TRY) or by card where available. For private baskets and packages we may ask for a deposit.
Yes, from hotels in Göreme, Uçhisar, Ürgüp, Avanos, Ortahisar and Çavuşin. From other towns we can arrange pickup for a small supplement — just ask.
Entrance fees are paid on site and listed on each tour page, so you can see the exact total. Children under 8 and Museum Pass holders enter free or at a discount.
Children from 6 can fly in a balloon with an adult. Day tours are suitable for all ages, and we offer child prices for ages 6–12. ATV drivers must be 18, but children can ride as passengers.
Tell us your dates and what you enjoy — we will suggest a plan for your days in Cappadocia. Free, no obligation.
